Trama
Un satellite del governo degli Stati Uniti cade vicino a Piedmont, Utah, dove due ragazzi lo trovano e lo portano in città. Gli abitanti lo aprono e rilasciano in questo modo un microrganismo, che verrà in seguito denominato, dall'esercito degli Stati Uniti come Andromeda. Una squadra viene inviata dal dipartimento della bio-difesa per recuperare il satellite, in questo modo vengono anche loro attacati dal virus e quindi muoino. Il video registrato dal Team di recupero e la loro morte, cattura l'attenzione del generale George Mancheck, il capo del reparto della bio-difesa, che attiva un team (chiamato Wildfire) di cinque ricercatori di alto livello, per scoprire che cosa minaccia gli Stati Uniti. La squadra guidata dal Dr. Jeremy Stone va ad indagare a Piedmont. Il team recupera il satellite e insieme ad esso anche un uomo anziano ed isterico di 60 anni ed una bambina neonata che presenta coliche, sopravvissuti alla devastazione. Da quel momento l'intera squadra si ritira in un laboratorio sotteraneo isolato dove comincia ad effettuare esperimenti. Nel corso delle due puntate, scopriranno che forse non appartiene al nostro tempo e che potrebbe essere di origine extraterrestre. ...
